| Back in April two of my best friends from high school, Danielle and Gretchen, FINALLY started planning a reunion trip with our friend David, his girlfriend Sarah and me and Javi. We’ve been talking about planning something like this for several years and Gretchen finally got the ball rolling trying to figure out when our schedules would allow for a weekend trip. Danielle took over the planning and wound up booking us a house boat on Dale Hollow Lake. None of us could commit to a full weekend until September (and even then I wasn’t able to make it for the full trip!) and that September weekend finally rolled around! Javi and I took off early last Saturday morning for Dale Hollow Lake. | En Abril, dos de msi mejores amigas de la escuela, Danielle y Gretchen, por fin planearon un Viaje/reunion con nuestro amigo David y su polola Sarah y Javi y yo. Hemos conversado sobre planear algo asi por anos y Gretchen por fin puso la idea en movimiento intentando ver como coordinar el calendario de todos y asi poder juntarnos un fin de semana. Danielle tomo el control de los planes y termino arrendando una casa/bote en el lago Dale Hollow. Nadie podia dedicar un fin de semana entero hasta Septiembre (y aun asi nosotros no pudimos estar todo el tiempo!) y por fin ese fin de semana de Septiembre llego! Javi y yo salimos muy temprano el Sabado en direccion al lago! |
| Danielle, her boyfriend Chris, Gretchen and her husband Brandon and David and Sarah arrived on Thursday morning, so we were way behind on the hanging out and catching up by the time we got there. Three mimosas and a couple of hours floating in the lake took care of lost time and it felt like we had been there all weekend. The weather was absolutely breathtaking on Saturday – mid-70s and sunny all afternoon and just cool enough for us to enjoy a bonfire on the shore in the evening. We grilled out and drank some of Chris’ home made beer (delicious!) and basically enjoyed being able to get away from our lives for at least for a day or two. | Danielle, su pololo Chris, Gretchen y su esposo Brandon y David y Sarah llegaron al lago el Jueves en la manana, asi que nosotros estabamos muy atrasados cuando llegamos alli. Unas mimosas y un par de horas y nos sentimos que habiamos estado juntos todo el fin de semana. El tiempo estuva genial el Sabado, no muy caluroso y soleado y en la tarde fresco como para hacer una fogata. Tiramos cosas a la parrilla y bebimos cerveza hecha por Chris (deliciosa!) y basicamente disfrutamos el poder escaparnos por un par de dias. |
| Dani, Gurt and I were pretty much attached at the hip in high school, so much so that one of our friends offhandedly referred to us as the DLG and that name stuck (at least for us). It was so much fun for all three of us to be together on vacation for the first time since our high school spring break trips and I’m sure that we’ll be planning more vacations together in the future. Judging from this experience, though, I’m pretty sure we should start planning our next trip now if we are hoping to get together in 2012… | Dani, Gretchen and yo eramos yunta en el liceo, tanto asi que nuestros amigos nos conocian como las DLG (Dani,Leslie,Gretchen). Fue muy entretenido poder estar las tres juntas de vacaciones por primera vez desde nuestras vacaciones de primavera en el liceo y estoy segura que planearemos mas vacaciones juntas en el futuro. Despues de esta experiencia, estoy segura que tenemos que planear algo ahora para juntarnos el 2012….. |
