I saw this idea in a mom group I’m in on Facebook (shoutout to my pretty good moms!) and I absolutely love it so I wanted to spread it as far and wide as I can. Post the idea in your neighborhood groups and on NextDoor and start some local scavenger hunts! Here’s the gist of it:
Start a neighborhood-wide rainbow hunt! 🌈🌈
All you have to do is put a rainbow in your window! Color it, paint it, cut it out, print it from the printer, whatever. Then when we are outside on our sanity walks, we can see how many rainbows we can find!

This activity has plenty of benefits without the human contact: Get creative, make something fun, get fresh air, spread some colorful cheer in your neighborhood. Get your kids involved and encourage them to find rainbows! Take photos of the rainbows with your phone and share them on your social media – tag with #rainbowscavengerhunt (in stories too!).

I hope this turns into a fun activity for you all! We made a rainbow with Penny’s watercolor paints on some thick watercolor paper – I might just frame it after all this is over for a beautiful reminder of a tough time. She insisted we use black paint too, so we made black stars all around the rainbow! Let me know if you do this too – I’d love to see other people’s rainbow scavenger hunt stories!

Like it? Pin it! Thank you!

Great idea!!
Love this! My hubs and son have been doing daily walks, a little further each day. A 🌈 is the perfect message to send – God always keeps His promises!
Andrea,
With your interaction with online moms and neighborhood groups, this should be easy to set up, and the kids would love it.
Love the way this crisis is bringing out the creative instincts in so many.
I LOVE this idea.
