Javi and I took a quick day trip up to Cincinnati on Saturday to visit Danielle, Chris, and Embry in their “new” (now 2-years since they moved in!) house. We’ve been wanting to visit for a long time, but they keep spoiling us by making trips down to Louisville so we’ve been putting it off. This is the first summer they’ve had their epic garden that they built together on the side of their house, so of course we had to scope it out to get ideas for our own future garden in our backyard.
Danielle actually cooks, so she has multiple vegetables and dozens of herbs growing that she will put to good use. I don’t spend enough time in the kitchen to care about such a variety of delicious herbs, but someday we’ll have a bi ol’ garden with tasty, leafy veggies and the two herbs we use the most: basil and lemon verbena. In Nashville we had a great strawberry patch and raspberry bushes, so hopefully we can get those going again as well. Anyway, here are some photos from our trip! Oh, and they have chickens!! We want chickens too but…baby + 3 dogs + garden goals + everything else means chickens are way, way down on the “what’s next” list. Hope everyone had a solid weekend!
