| January is over. I’ll let that sink in for a second…I can’t believe we’re already 1 month down 11 to go in 2014. I thought 2013 flew by, and I wasn’t having half as much fun last year as I hope to have this year (and last year was pretty damn fun). You know what they say about fun and time…Ok, moving on. Now that we’ve wrapped up our “trip to Chile” series, it’s time to get back to basics – the regular ol’ back-in-Nashville Los Rodriguez Life! Since we arrived back home, things have been pretty busy around here… | Enero se acabo. Necesito un segundo para pensar en eso….no puedo creer que ya terminamos un mes y nos quedan 11 en el 2014. Pense que el 2013 paso volando, y ni siquiera la estaba pasando tan bien como espero hacerlo este ano (y el ano pasado fue muy entretenido). Saben lo que dicen sobre pasarlo bien y como pasa el tiempo….ok, seguimos. Ahora que terminamos de contar nuestro viaje a Chile, es hora de volver a lo básico – la vida regulas de Los Rodriguez en Nashville! Desde que llegamos de vuelta a casa, las cosas han estado bien ocupadas… |

| Javier threw himself straight back into school-mode right away. His semester started a couple of days after we arrived in Nashville, and it’s hard to believe he’s already 5 weeks in to his second semester. The doggos have taken to keeping him company in the office…conveniently curled up right next to the space heater. Speaking of, it’s COLD in Nashville. That’s not news to anyone I’m sure, since it’s been REALLY cold around most of the U.S. Speaking as someone on Team Winter, I’m getting sick of it…I’m ready for spring, dog-walking weather, grill-out weather, sit-on-the-porch weather. One can dream, right? We’ve had more “snow” this year than the last few years combined, so that’s been fun at least. And it’s always nice when Javier’s classes are canceled and he gets to stay home with me! | Javier se metió de lleno en la escuela. Su semestre comenzo solo un par de días después de llegar a Nashville, y es divicil creer que ya van 5 semanas de clases. Los perros le han hecho compania en la oficina…convenientemente acurrucados al lado del calentador. Hablando de eso, hace FRIO en Nashville. Eso no es noticia para muchos, estoy segura, ya que ha hecho mucho frío en todo los Estados Unidos. Y yo que me gusta el frío, estoy aburrida…estoy lista para la primavera, poder pasear con los perros, hacer parrillas, sentarse en el porch. Se puede sonar, verdad? Hemos tenido mas nieve este ano, que otros anos combinados, así que eso ha sido entretenido por lo menos. Y es siempre cómodo cuando las clases de Javier se cancelan y se puede quedar en casa conmigo! |

| Meanwhile, I’ve been in the studio with Humming House recording album number 2. We finished up the kickstarter back in December (THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to everyone who contributed!!!!) and went straight into the studio in January to get the album under way. We worked with Mitch Dane (producer, engineer for the album) at Sputnik Sound and, miraculously, were able to just about finish the entire recording process in 10 days. We had a blast playing “pump up jams” in the carpool on the way to Sputnik in the mornings and working together to make the album come to life each day – 9-5 – for those two weeks. Per usual, I had my camera on hand the whole time. I’ll be posting more photos on humminghousewithaview.com soon, but you can also see a ton of the behind the scenes photos on our instagram account – @humminghouse. | Por mientras, he estado en el estudio con Humming House grabando nuestro segundo album. Finalizamos la campana para recaudar fondos en Diciembre (GRACIAS, GRACIAS, GRACIAS a todos quienes contribuyeron!!!) y nos fuimos directo al estudio en Enero para completar el album. Trabajamos con Mitch Dane (productor, ingeniero del album) en Sputnik Sound, milagrosamente, pudimos completar prácticamente todas las grabaciones en 10 días. Lo pasamos muy bien cantando en el auto camino al estudio en las manabas, y trabajando juntos para darle vida al album cada día de 9 a 5 por dos semanas. Como siempre, tenia la cámara en mis manos todo el tiempo.
