| OUR BABY NIECE IS HERE! Gia Marilyn McClure was born on August 20 at 7:15 in the morning and she’s perfect. Of course I’m biased, but I’ve never seen such a darling baby in my life. Andrea and Ian called to let us know that they were heading to the hospital on August 19 and the entire rest of the day we were waiting with bated breath…but luckily we didn’t hold it because it took another 15 hours before she arrived in the world! Ian sent a photo of her sweet face as I was driving Javier to work and I just started crying right there in the car. My brother and Andrea are parents! Ian is a dad! | Nuestra sobrina Gia ha llegado!!! Gia Marilyn McClure nacio el 20 de Agosto a las 7:15 de la manana y es perfecta. Claro, eso lo dice la tia, pero nunca habiab visto una bebe tan linda en mi vida. Andrea e Ian nos llamaron para avisarnos que iban camino al hospital el 19 de Agosto y el resto del dia lo pasamos esperando la noticia y aguantando la respiracion….bueno, por suerte no la aguantamos porque Gia demoro 15 horas mas antes de llegar al mundo! Ian envio una foto de su carita mientras manejaba a Javier rumbo a clases y me puse a llorar de immediato en el auto. Mi hermano y su esposa son papas! Ian es papa! |
| They came home from the hospital on Wednesday the 21st and my mom and gma drove up to Chicago to meet their grandbaby (and great grandbaby! Wow) that Thursday. It was a sweet combination of joy and lighthearted jealousy seeing all the photos of my mom and gma holding baby Gia – she looked so comfortable in their arms and I’ve never seen those women so happy in my life! My gma has been waiting for a great grandbaby for awhile – so now she joins the great grandma club. And I’m an aunt now! I love that title. | Volvieron a casa despues de estar en el hospital, el miercoles 21, y mi mama y abuela manejaron runbo a Chicago a conocr a su nieta (y bisnieta! wow!) ese jueves. Fue una tieran combinacion de alegria y un poco de envidia ver todas las fotos de mi mama y abuela sosteniendo a GIa – se veia tan comoda en sus brazos y nunca habia visto a esas mujeres tan felices en mi vida! Mi abuela ha esperado por un bisnieto por mucho tiempo – asi que ahora se una al club de las bisabuelas. Y ahora soy tia! me encanta ese titulo. |
| Last weekend my parents went back up to Chicago so my dad could meet her – once again I was overjoyed and totally jealous seeing photos of them with her. They just can’t get enough and I don’t blame them – look at that head of hair! Look at how aware those eyes are! She’s going to be beautiful just like her momma. Speaking of, Andrea and Ian are both settling into parenthood quite nicely from what I hear..and Ian is sending us daily photo updates like a dutiful new dad oughta do! I love my daily dose of Gia. Makes me smile no matter what! | Este fin de semana mis papas fueron a Chicago para que mi papa la conociera – de nuevo, estoy muy feliz pero tambien un poco celosa de ver fotos con ella. Para ellos nunca es suficiente y no me sorprende – miren a esa cabeza llena de pelo! Miren esos ojos y como esta de atentos! Va a ser tan linda como su mama. Hablando de eso, Andrea e Ian ambos estan acostumbrandose a ser padres muy bien, por lo que he escuchado…e Ian nos envia fotos diarias como todo papa chocho! Me encantan las dosis diarias de Gia. Me hace sonreir sin duda! |
| I get to meet Gia in a couple of weeks when Humming House goes through Chicago on our Fall Forward Tour and I cannot wait! Poor Javier won’t get to hold her til Thanksgiving if we see them over that holiday…if not then it won’t be til next year since we are going to Chile for Christmas! Obviously we’ll keep posting photos of her – I can’t wait to get my camera in front of her. Get ready folks – I’m an aunt and I’m proud of it! | Voy a poder conocer a Gia en un para de semana cuando Humming House pase por Chicago durante nuestro tour de otono, y no puedo esperar mas! Pobre Javier no podra conocerla hasta Dia de Accion de Gracias, si es que los vemos….sino es asi, no sera hasta el proximo ano ya que iremos a Chile durante la navidad! Claro que seguiremos posteando fotos de ella – tengo muchas ganas de poner mi camara frente a ella. Preparense – soy tia y estoy muy orgullosa! |
