The Schermerhorn Symphony Center has been open for 7 years and Javi and I went for the first time last weekend! I can’t believe it took me so long to get there – what an incredible experience. My aunt Jane and uncle Bruce were in town two weeks ago for the Academy of General Dentistry conference and they got us tickets to the symphony with them. What a treat! We started out with a lovely dinner at the Germantown Cafe and then headed over to the symphony with enough time to get some photos in front of the building before finding our seats. Dinner was delicious, and we had a great time talking about memories and future plans. We really want Jane and Bruce to move to Nashville! |
When we went into the main hall to find our seats, I was completely in awe of the beautiful architecture and the entire feel of the symphony center. It was just gorgeous – I couldn’t get enough! The added bonus, the icing on the cake, were our seats – they were right up front. What a special evening! The performance was of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. We had a great time sitting up close – we could see the conductor’s face and antics and all of the movements of each of the performers. It was magical. Thanks so much to Jane and Bruce for such a wonderful evening!! We also went with them to the Ryman…but that’s for another post! What a weekend! |
