Chori’s first snow day

This past weekend it “snowed”! The 1/4 inch we got here in our neighborhood was pretty exciting because we didn’t see so much as a flake last year. It was also particularly exciting in this household because it was Choripan’s first encounter with snow, which obligated a photo or two. I took my camera out early in the morning on Friday after I took Javi to work and watched Chori bound around the backyard – he loved it! It was so cute.

He ran around for about 45 minutes before he got too cold and started whining at the door – usually he won’t put up with cold temps for more than 5 minutes so I could tell he was enjoying himself. Chupi had already experienced snow two years ago so this wasn’t news to him but he still had a good time since he had a willing playmate in Chori – if Chori is up for a run around the backyard Chupi always obliges. Below are a few photos of the morning – hope everyone else had a fun snow day!

  1. it’s so cute how snow seems to energize dogs! pancho always does this run-around the yard thing after a new snow. then he will roll in it and try to catch it when matt shovels. the poodles, on the other hand, do their business and then beg to come back inside.

    • I thought Chori would beg to come back in too! He was so cute romping around – and I think he misses it today haha. I bet he’d be ecstatic with a REAL snow!

  2. Great pictures! Your dogs are so adorable, and it looks like they had a great time in the snow. I still remember the first time each of mine encountered snow. It’s such a funny experience for us, too!

    • thank you!! hahaha I’ll never forget this either – next time I want to take him out while it’s actually falling but this time around it fell during the night.

    • We can’t wait for the spring either, we want flowers and veggies and warmth. We have been watching a BBC show “How to be a Gardener” and seeing all those english gardens and beautiful lawns….ahh makes us want to go there!

  3. Love, Love, Love…these pics! You can totally see Chori’s excitement in 2nd picture! Happy New Year Rodriguez love birdies….! Love, Bill, Lisa, Kris, Kali and Bucks

  4. Love, Love, Love the 2nd picture of Chopi! You can totally see his amazement…
Happy New Year! Love, Bill, Lisa, Kris, Kali…and Bucks!

    • Happy New Year Lisa!! Great to hear from you! 🙂 We keep up with Bucks and Kris via instagram – we want a chihuahua now hahahaha. Hope all is well in sunny SoCal!

  5. As a kid I also had a dog that loved snow, especially chasing–and eating–snowballs. These pictures bring back the memories! I live in Southern California now, so not a whole lotta snow here. LOL

  6. Thank you so much for visiting my blog today! Love the snow pics of Chori and Chupi in the snow. I experienced my first snow day just before my first birthday. Nothing since, and I’m almost four. Boo hoo! I also love the beautiful doghouses. I’m a little jealous.
