It’s growing season

The spring has brought many changes to our yard; fast growing grass, mysterious plants, beautiful flowers, rebellious weeds – there are so many living things that we tend to not pay attention to. Plants grow slowly but steadily and despite how slow they grow it is amazing how quick they get out of control.

While we were working around the shrubs outside our kitchen window, a protective little robin aggressively let us know that plants are not the only growing things in the yard. Actually the little bird didn’t scare either Leslie or me, she (or… we think is a momma) scared the crap out of a contractor.

We are so excited to see the little birdies grow! The nest is placed perfectly for us to peek into every time we get home. We are trying to keep track of their growth, but we only look at them when the parents are not around (we don’t want to stress them out, they have plenty of stress going on collecting yummy bugs for their little babies).

Let hope these little birds get to grow into big strong robins like their parents…in the mean time, they are welcome to enjoy their little bird home at Los Rodriguez mansion.

  1. Loved reading about your robin and seeing the pictures. Yesterday I watched for a long time as a robin flew back and forth gathering twigs and dead mulch from my rose garden to build her nest. I was so amazed by her ability to carry great mouths full of the stuff and still fly. My what perseverance and how amazing is God’s design for all his creatures!
