| Dec. 26 was our second second anniversary, but we only celebrate the 12/12 anniversary. Javier and I hopped on a plane to Chile two days after our first wedding to head down to prepare for Christmas there and our second wedding the day after Christmas. My mom, dad and brother also came down, which was an adventure in itself. It was their first time in South America, and I think we showed them a pretty good time. We all went to the Christmas eve service together on the 24th and spent Christmas day driving through the Andes (Camila was there too!) which was overwhelmingly beautiful. | Dec. 26 fue nuestro segundo aniversario, pero solamente celebramos el aniversario del 12/12. Dos dias despues del primer matrimonio en Nashville, Javier y yo viajamos a Chile para pasar la navidad ahi y nuestro segundo matrimonio el dia despues de navidad. Mi mama, papa y hermano también vinieron a Chile, y fue una aventura total! Fue su primera vez en Sudamerica, y creo que ellos lo pasaron genial. Todos fuimos a la misa de noche buena el 24 y pasamos el dia de navidad conduciendo en los Andes (y Camila estaba ahi tambien!) y fue maravilloso. |
| The wedding was amazing – beautiful beautiful beautiful. Macarena organized (and made) most of the decorations, including my bouquet! The wedding was on a military base where his uncle lives right next to the mountains, which afforded a gorgeous view especially as the sun set. The food was a gigantic “parillada,” or grill out, with all the best steak you can possibly imagine. Instead of one cake we had about 10 different cakes all over the room. Javier’s sister hired a DJ who promised that he wouldn’t play reggaeton (Javier’s least favorite music in the world) and only play cumbia and other traditional dancing songs. We literally danced all night long – we didn’t quit til around 1AM. It was perfect! | El matrimonio fue genial – lindo lindo lindo. Macarena organizó la mayoria de las decoraciones y tambien hizo mi ramo! Todo paso en una base militar donde vive su tio, al lado de las montañas que nos dieron una vista increible, especialmente durante el atardecer. La comida fue una parillada gigante con toda la carne que puedes imaginar. En vez de tener una sola torta, habian como diez tortas diferentes. Las hermanas contrataron un DJ quien prometio que no iba a poner musica reggaeton (la musica que Javi mas detesta) y solamente poner cumbia y otros tipos de musica parecida a esa. Nosotros literalmente bailamos toda la noche – hasta la una de la mañana! Fue perfecto! |

The mountains are beautiful and that veil was to die for. Absolutely gorgeous! Cj got excited when he saw the cakes.
haha I got excited when I saw them too! I miss Chilean cakes…they are the BEST! Especially with manjar.
