Los Rodriguez Wedding

I already wrote out this long, detailed post about all the fun aspects of our wedding, but it was boring and I’d hate to have a boring post describing of one of the best days of my life, and one of the most fun parties I’ve ever been to. So here’s a few quick words about the wedding and then I’ll just let photos do the rest of the talking.
my mom made me that veil!

I always knew I wanted a Christmas wedding, just like my parents. Poinsettias are my favorite “flower” and I love the red and white combination that goes so well with Christmas. It’s also a time of year when people are feeling festive, family is all together and, practically speaking, many people have time off from work and school. It was doubly great for Javier and me because we had two weddings, a winter one here and a summer one in Chile ( it’s summer there in December). The wedding was held at Second Presbyterian Church on Belmont Boulevard, the reception was in the refectory at the Divinity School at Vanderbilt. My dad and a group of his friends were the live music for the reception which was unbeatable…I will always, always advocate for live music at a reception. Nothing gets an entire room full of people of all ages dancing like a live band.  I also had the phenomenal wedding photographer Austin Gros (austingros.com) who captured every single moment and then some and ran a great photobooth the whole time (all photos in this post are from Austin!).

Again, words don’t really do justice to the amount of fun we had that night! It was crazy, the party lasted until around 1:30 at least and so many people stayed until the very end, it was just amazing. It was also incredible to be able to have Javier’s family here for the first time (first time in the US too!) and we are SO excited to have them back here next week so we can show them around Nashville without having a wedding to worry about. We’ll post about the second wedding on that anniversary, Dec. 26!
