You know you are driving through Indiana when writing another blog post from your smartphone seems like great fun. We are on our return trip back to nashville, except this time there isn’t an overnight stop in Louisville to break up the drive. We won’t make it back in time to collect our pups from the kennel which is especially sad because one of the workers from dogtopia just called to tell me that Choripan is in isolation because he has puppy warts! 😦 poor pupster.

Sabes que vas manejando por Indiana cuando escribir un post para el blog en tu telefono es lo mas entretenido que puedes hacer. Vamos de vuelta a Nashville, excepto que no vamos a pasar la noche en Louisvile sino que vemos directo. No llegaremos a tiempo para recoger a los perros, lo que es muy triste porque recien nos llamaron para avisarnos que Choripan ha sido separado del resto de los perros porque tiene verrugas y pueden ser contagiosas para otros canes. Probrecito Chori!

So I’d say despite that the weather, this weekend was another total success in Chicago. Our big entertainment was the board game Puerto Rico that I described in our last post – we played again last night with Ian and Andi and their friends Taylor and Laura while watching NFL preseason games. It may sound like an oddly low key way to spend a Saturday night in Chicago but it was really nice to hang out with Ian and Andi and relax – I only have a week and a half til the semester starts back up so I need to get as much relaxation in as I can! Which reminds me, this will be the first time that i will be starting up a semester and Javi won’t have any classes…weird.

A pesar del mal tiempo, este fin de semana fue otro viaje perfecto en Chicago. Nuestra mayor entretencion fue jugar Puerto Rico, el juego de mesa que describi en el post pasado – jugamos de nuevo anoche con Ian y andi y sus amigos Taylor y Laura mientras mirabamos futbol americano. Puede sornar un poco raro y fome pasar el Sabado en la noche en Chicago jugando juegos de mesa pero es muy entretenido poder pasar tiempo con mi hermano y su esposa y relajarse. Solo me queda una semana y media hasta que empiezo el semestre asi que necesito el maximo de relajacion posible! Lo que me recuerda, esta sera la primera vez que comienzo un semestre sin Javi, ya que el no tiene mas clases…muy extrano.

The other highlight of the weekend was the fun photoshoot yesterday morning with the Hyde family. The weather was just beautiful that morning, which was quite fortunate because by 2:00 it was storming and hailing. The Hyde family was tons of fun and I think we came away with some superb photos of all 8 of them. They also had an 8 week old puppy named Higgins that they brought along. She was a little ball of pure bred lab cuteness that became Javier’s charge during the photoshoot. So cute!!

Lo otro entretenido del fin de semana fue la sesion de fotos ayer con la familia Hyde. El tiempo estaba hermoso esa manana, lo que fue muy afortunado proque a las 2p, habia tormenta y granizo. La familia Hyde fue muy entretenida y creo que sacamos muy buenas fotos de los 8 miembros. Tambien tenian un cachorro de 8 semanas llamada Higgins y la trajeron a la sesion de fotos. Era una pelota de pelo, una labradora amarilla que Javier tuvo que cuidar mientras sacabamos fotos. Muy tierna!

So as we pass field after field of corn, the occasional biker gang and what seems like all the worst drivers in the Midwest, we wanted to wish you a good morning and happy Sunday!
