| We’re way behind in updates on our garden and our landscaping – but we’ll take care of that soon enough. This past weekend was the first weekend that we’ve both been free enough to clean the whole house, and it’s amazing how nice and clean it is!! We also took care of all the spring cleaning, so now the house feels kind of empty. We moved all of the peppers that we kept inside in pots during the winter back out to the garden where they belong, so there are several bare surfaces in the house that needed new house plants to take the peppers’ places. | Estamos un poco atrasados con las noticias de nuestra huerta y jardín – pero nos encargaremos de eso. Este fin de semana ha sido el primer fin de semana donde ambos estábamos libres y con tiempo de limpiar la casa, y es increíble lo cómoda y limpia que esta!! También nos encargamos de guardar, botar, y regalar cosas así que la casa se siente un poco vacía. Pusimos todas las plantas de ají y pimientos en la huerta. luego de tener los maceteros todo el invierno dentro de la casa. Así que ahora tenemos algunas superficies que necesitan plantas. |
| We had some money from Christmas to Gardens of Babylon, the nursery at the farmer’s market. We invested all of that into getting some nice house plants – six total, to be exact. We got a snake plant, a philodendron prince of orange plant, a spider plant, some other one that I don’t know the name of (any input would be most welcome!), a bird’s nest fern and a Dracaena FL Beauty. They’re all beautiful! The Prince of orange one has orange leaves when they first come out that turn green over time. The spider plant is the one that grows the fastest with long spider-like leaves than hang down. The snake plant and the one that I don’t know the name of are supposedly impossible to kill, which is great, and the Dracaena is perfect for our bedroom. I think the bird’s nest fern is my favorite though – it’s BEAUTIFUL! It grows in the rainforest and most people buy them for their bathrooms because of the humidity, but our bathroom isn’t big enough for plants. I hope it does okay where we put it! | Teníamos una plata de un regalo de navidad en una gift card para Gardens de Babylon, un vivero en la feria. La usamos toda para comprar plantas d interior – seis en total para ser exactos. Compramos una planta serpiente, un principe naranja, una planta araña, otras que no me acuerdo el nombre, una plata nido y una Dracaena FL Beauty. Todas son preciosas! El príncipe naranja tiene hojas naranja cuando son nuevas y cambian a verde una vez maduras. La planta araña es la que crece mas rápido con hojas que parecen patas y cuelgan fuera de la maceta. La planta serpiente y la que no me acuerdo el nombre se supone son imposibles de matar, lo que es genial, y la Dracaena es perfecta para nuestra pieza. Creo que la planta nido es mi favorita – es HERMOSA! Crece en el bosque lluvioso y la mayoría de la gente la compra para sus banos por la humedad, pero nuestro bano es muy pequeño para poner plantas. Espero que crezca bien donde la pusimos. |

| Now that the house is clean, it’s nice to have some plants adorning various surfaces under the windows. When we had all of our winter stuff out (jackets, scarves, hats and boots everywhere) and our peppers covering every surface, it felt very cluttered and overrun. Now it definitely feels like spring inside! We’ll update on the outside soon enough – it’s looking AMAZING in the backyard with the garden AND in the front yard with our now finished landscaping!! Get excited for some before and after photos! | Ahora que la casa esta limpia, es rico tener plantas adornando varias superficies cerca de las ventanas. Cuando teníamos todas las cosas de invierno a la vista (chaquetas, bufandas, gorros y botas por todos lados) y los pimientos tapando las superficies todo estaba muy aglomerado. Ahora definitivamente se siente como si la primavera por fin llego dentro de la casa! Pronto los informaremos sobre lo que pasa afuera – se ve GENIAL! el jardin y la huerta, todo esta terminado y creciendo de a poco!! Pronto vendrán las fotos! |
