| My sweet little niece Gia is due to arrive in August, which means we’re only a few months away from meeting the first McClure grandbaby! I’m so excited for Ian and Andrea and I can’t wait to see them as parents – I know they are going to be amazing. This weekend my mom, gma and I drove up to Chicago for the big baby shower that Andrea’s mom threw for her. We arrived on Friday afternoon and spent all day Saturday boutique shopping and showing gma Ian and Andrea’s neighborhood. We went out for dinner for mother’s day on Saturday night at a Mexican restaurant and toasted to moms and moms-to-be – such amazing women! | Mi sobrinita Gia nacerá en Agosto, lo que significa que en solo un par de meses conoceremos al primer bisnieto McClure! Estoy tan emocionada por Ian y Andrea y no puedo esperar para verlos como padres – estoy segura que serán buenísimos. Este fin de semana, mi mama, abuela y yo manejamos a Chicago para la baby shower que la mama de Andrea organizo para ella. Llegamos el Viernes en la tarde y pasamos todos el día Sábado de compras y mostrándola a mi abuela el vecindario de Ian y Andrea. Salimos a cenar para celebrar el día de la madre el Sábado en la noche a un restaurant mexicano y brindamos por las mamas y la futura mama – que mujeres más impresionantes! |
| On Sunday we woke up and drove out to one of the suburbs to meet up with Andrea’s family at the restaurant where the shower was held. Andrea’s mom and sisters had decorated the room beautifully with balloons, sweet place settings and little soap favors. The presents table was enormous and completely packed – we couldn’t believe how many wonderful things Andrea’s friends and family bought for baby Gia and the parents-to-be. Ian and Andrea are really blessed to have such an amazing group of people living in Chicago and ready to help out any time! The food was delicious and the shower was great – it’s always nice to see Andrea’s family since we don’t always get to see them when we come out to Chicago. Now Ian and Andrea have all the necessities for transforming their condo into a baby-friendly home – we just need that baby to arrive!! Come on little Gia! | El Domingo nos despertamos y manejamos a los suburbios de Chicago para encontrarnos con la familia de Andrea en el restaurant donde sería la baby shower. La mama de Andrea y sus hermanas decoraron la sala con globos, utensilios de mesa y jaboncitos de regalo. La mesa de los regalos era enorme y completamente llena – no podíamos creer la cantidad de cosas increíble que los amigos de Andrea y su familia compraron para la pequeña Gia y los futuros papas. Ian y Andrea han sido bendecidos con un grupo de gente excelente que los rodea en Chicago y que están listos para ayudar cuando se necesite! La comida estaba deliciosa y la shower estuvo genial – es siempre rico poder ver a la familia de Andrea ya que no los vemos muy seguido. Ahora Ian y Andrea tienen todo lo necesario para transformar su casa en una casa a prueba de bebes – solo hace falta el bebe!! Vamos Gia!!! |

Esta baby es un regalo del cielo y ya estoy ansiosa por conocer esta preciosa bebe. Estare pidiendo a Dios por un parto seguro para Andrea y mucha fuerza para Ian, porque no es facil estar In “labor”.
