Danielle is getting married!

It’s Danielle’s wedding week!!! I feel like I’ve been waiting for this wedding for almost a decade! As soon as Danielle and Chris started dating back in 2004, everyone knew that that was it for those two. They make such a great couple and Chris immediately fell in with our group of friends like he had always been there. I was so happy that Danielle found such a great guy and it’s finally time to party and celebrate their love! A few weeks ago Dani asked me if I had any photos of me, Gurt and Dani all together from 2001/2002…here are a few that I found. Makes me miss high school!

Es la semana de la boda de Danielle!! Siento que he estado esperando por este matrimonio hace una década! Tan pronto como Danielle y Chris comenzaron a pololear el 2004, todos sabían ese era el ultimo pololeo de los dos. Hacen una gran pareja y Chris de inmediato encajo en nuestro grupo de amigos como si siempre hubiese estado ahí. Estaba tan feliz por Danielle por haber encontrado un tipo tan bueno y por fin es la hora de celebrar su amor! Unas semanas atrás Dani me pregunto si tenia fotos de ella junto a Gretchen y yo del 2001 / 2002…aquí van algunas de las que encontré. Me hace extrañar el liceo!

Anyway, last weekend Danielle had a bridal shower in Louisville so I drove up for the day to have fun with the girls. I stopped at Gretchen’s house before we went to the shower and she’s SO PREGNANT! She’s due with baby Leighton the week after next (so, the week after the wedding!) and she’s a bridesmaid in the wedding, so that’ll be an interesting adventure! We’re hoping that Leighton will hang out long enough for Gurt to attend the wedding but she looks like she’s ready to have that baby girl tomorrow.

La semana pasada fue la fiesta de novia de Danielle en Louisville, asi que fui a Kentucky por el dia a pasarlo bien con las chicas. Pase por la casa de Gretchen antes de ir a la fiesta y ella esta TAN EMBARAZADA! Tiene fecha de parto en 2 semanas mas (la semana despues de la boda!) y ella es dama de honor en la boda, asi que sera una aventura interesante! Esperamos que Leighton (el nombre de la bebe) espere lo suficiente para que Grentchen pueda ir al matrimonio pero parece que ya esta lista para recibir a esa bebita manana.

The bridal shower was beautiful – everything was very southern-styled. Sweet tea, strawberry lemonade, hot browns, shrimp and grits, prosciutto with cantaloupe – delicious! We spent a fun afternoon reminiscing on all the good times we’ve all spent with Danielle. I got to hear a ton of great stories from her aunts and cousins about when she was a little kiddo, and Gurt and I kept bringing up embarrassing high school stories starring Dani…ahh, the good ol’ days! It was a great afternoon – and now there’s just a few short days til were all together again toasting the newlyweds!

La fiesta de novia estuvo preciosa – todo muy estilo sureno. Te dulce, limonada de frutilla, hot browns, grits con camaron, melon con jamon – delicioso! Pasamos la tarde recordando los buenos tiempos que hemos pasado con Danielle. Pude escuchar un monton de historias de Dani de sus tias y primas de cuando era nina, y Gretchen y yo tambien compratimos algunas historia ara avergonzar a Dani de cuando ibamos al colegio…aahh que dias aquellos! Fue una gran tarde – y ahora hay solo unos cuantos dias hasta que estemos todos juntos de nuevo brindando por los recien casados!
