Post-Christmas show at Puckett’s

Puckett’s in Leiper’s Fork, TN is one of Leslie’s favorite places to play gigs. The people who run Puckett’s out there are so great and they have always been so easy to work with when it comes to booking, running sound, creating a great environment for a gig, etc.. Leiper’s Fork is such a beautiful place (we would love to live there) and the atmosphere around the area is so nice – Leslie and the band always have a blast! It’s also doubly great because the food at Puckett’s is so tasty – fried chicken, barbecue ribs, burgers, whatever is on the menu is always awesome.

Puckett’s en Liepers Fork, TN is una de los lugares favoritos de Leslie para cantar. La gente que maneja en el lugar son geniales y siempre han sido muy faciles y amables para programar shows, ajustar el sonido, y crear una gran atmosfera. Leipers Fork es un lugar muy bonito (no encantaria vivir ahi) y el ambiente al rededor del lugar es tan rico – Leslie y la banda siempre lo pasan genial! Es tambien doblemente genial porque la comida es deliciosa – pollo frito, costillas en barbacoa, hamburguesas, lo que sea que tienen en el menu siempre es espectacular.

It has been a year since Leslie last show at Puckett’s. Last year my family was visiting for the holidays and Leslie and John hosted a Christmas show on December 23. This year the whole band was in town for the holidays – Leslie, John, Steve Taylor on harmonica, Jim Hardaway on the bass and Andy Hull on the drums. It’s so much fun to have the whole band out there with John and Leslie – it really keeps the energy going and the music sounded great.

Ha sido ya un ano desde la ultima vez que Leslie tuvo un show en Puckett’s. El ano pasado mi familia estaba de visita por las fiestas y Leslie y John tuvieron un show de Navidad el 23 de Diciembre. Este ano la banda entera estaba en la ciudad durante las fiestas – Leslie, John, Steve Taylor en la harmonica, Jim Hardaway en el bajo y Andy Hull en la batería. Es muy entretenido tener a toda la banda junto con John y Leslie – ayuda a mantener la energía muy alta y la música suena genial.

This year Puckett’s had a surprise for all of us. Since last year, they renovated the place, completely overhauled the sound system and installed new lights – and it makes an huge difference. It wasn’t bad before at all but now the sound is fitting for such a great venue. Many of the regular Puckett’s patrons are musicians who live around the area, so good sound is a must.

Este ano Puckett’s tenia una sorpresa para todos nosotros. Desde el ano pasado, han renovado el lugar, una renovación total del sistema de sonido e instalaron nuevas luces – hace una diferencia enorme. No era malo antes pero ahora el sonido va mucho mas de acuerdo con el lugar. Muchos de los clientes regulares de Puckett’s son músicos que viven en el área, así que buen sonido es una necesidad.

The show was great! Despite the bad weather, a good number of people made the trip to Leiper’s Fork to listen to Leslie and had a good time extending the Christmas holiday one extra day. We had several friends and family members in the audience and the band played a bunch of “new” old songs, which were a great way to keep the faithful fans – who have heard every song they’d ever done previously – entertained. Below are a few videos from the show so those who couldn’t be there can have a better idea of how the night went. Leslie will hopefully be playing again at Puckett’s and we are hoping to book a show there with Hickory Slims too – we will let everyone know!

El show fue espectacular!! A pesar del mal tiempo. un buen numero de gente hizo el viaje a Leiper’s Fork para escuchar a Leslie y paso un buen rato extendiendo la navidad un día mas. Varios amigos y familiares estaban en la audiencia y la banda toco un montón de canciones antiguas nuevas, lo cual fue genial para mantener a los fanáticos que siempre vienen entretenidos – ya que han escuchado todas las canciones que hemos hecho una y otra vez. Abajo van unos cuantos vídeos del show asi aquellos que no pudieron estar ahi pueden tener una mejor idea de como fue la noche. Espero que Leslie cante de nuevo en Puckett’s en un futuro cercano con los Hickory Slims – les avisaremos a todos!
