| So this month my brother (Ian) and dad turn 30 and 60, and Ian decided that we had to celebrate this momentous occasion with a first-rate McClure party. My parents and brother know a thing or two about throwing parties: my parents threw a huge Derby party every year for a decade back when we lived in Louisville and my brother has been throwing parties since my parents started leaving him at home without a babysitter in high school. So needless to say, this was going to be a big one. | Este mes mi hermano (Ian) y mi papa cumplieron 30 y 60, e Ian decidió que tenían que celebrar esta gran ocasión con una buena fiesta a lo McClure. Mis papas y hermano saben algunas cosas sobre como preparar fiestas: mis papas hacían una gran fiesta para cada Kentucky Derby cada ano durante una década completa cuando vivíamos en Louisville y mi hermano ha hecho fiestas desde que mis papas lo dejaban solo en casa sin alguien que le tuviera ojo en la época del colegio. | Andrea flew into Nashville last week before Ian did so we could get plenty of party prep in before the birthday boy arrived. Mom, Andrea and I spent the Friday morning setting up fall decorations around the house until we met up with gma and aunt Regena, who flew in from Indiana for the party, for lunch. After lunch we spent the rest of the afternoon with help from Regena setting up lights and more decorations, prepping food and chilling by the pool until Ian arrived from Chicago, his friends Scott and Greg arrived early from Louisville and Javier got off work. By 8:00 we were all at Cinco de Mayo eating dinner and enjoying margaritas – a choice way to end the day. | Andrea viaje a Nashville la semana pasada antes que Ian así podíamos tener tiempo de preparar todo antes de que el cumpleanero llegara. Mama, Andre y yo pasamos la mañana del viernes comprando decoraciones e instalandolas en la casa, hasta que nos juntamos a almorzar con mi abuela y mi tía Regena, que viajo desde Indiana para la fiesta. Después del almuerzo pasamos la tarde instalando luces y mas decoraciones con ayuda de Regena, preparamos comida y descansamos al lado de la piscina hasta que Ian llegara desde Chicago. Sus amigos Greg y Scott llegaron temprano desde Louisville y Javier salió del trabajo a las 6. A las 8 estábamos todo en Cinco de Mayo cenando y tomando margaritas – la manera perfecta de terminar el día. |
| The party was so epic that it deserves it’s own post – so I’ll leave off here for now. I just wish every Friday could be that great – I love spending time with my family and having Ian and Andrea in town! | La fiesta fue EPICA, tanto así que merece su propio post – así que lo dejare hasta aquí por ahora.
