| As you might have figured out by now, Leslie comes from a VERY musical family. She loves music and loves to perform and sing out loud…so much so that I always joke with her that she doesn’t pay attention to me because she’s singing. Except it’s not really a joke. When she’s singing and not paying attention it’s called “Leslie World,” which seems to be hereditary since I know for sure that John and Ian also tend to drift away into their own worlds too. | Como ya se han dado cuenta, Leslie viene de una familia MUY musical. A ella le encanta la musica y le encanta cantar en voz alta donde sea…tanto asi que siempre le digo de broma que nunca me pone atencion porque esta cantando. Excepto que no es broma. Cuando esta cantando y no poninedo atencion, se le llama “el mundo de Leslie”, algo que al parecer es hereditario ya que John e Ian tambien tienden a perderse en sus propios mundos muy seguido. |
| Personally, I am not very musically inclined but I would like to be able to play music with Leslie. I have entertained the thought of learning to play an instrument (singing is out of the question) before, and for some reason the sound of the banjo has caught my attention. I am definitely motivated to learn, but I know it is not going to be easy at all. | Personalmente, no soy muy inclinado a la muscia pero me gustaria poder tocar un instrument con Leslie. He estado pensando en aprender a tocar algun instrument (cantar esta fuera de las opciones), y por alguna razon el sonido del banjo me ha llamado la atencion. Tengo ganas de aprender a tocarlo, pero se que no va a ser nada facil. |
| Luckily for me, John has a beginner’s banjo that I can borrow until I am sure this is the instrument I want to learn and I am ready to invest in a banjo upgrade. For now this banjo is perfect for me and hopefully soon I’ll be able to make it play some nice rolls. | Por suerte para mi, John tiene un banjo de principiantes que puedo usar hasta estar seguro de que es el intrumento que quiero aprender y este listo para invertir en un mejor banjo. Por ahora, este banjo es perfecto para mi y ojala pronto pueda hacerlo producir sonidos placenteros. |
| Maybe in a couple of years (I’m being realistic about this, come on) Leslie and I will be playing music in the front porch with the dogs laying next to us. Hmm…I think the South has made a big mark on me… a Chilean playing the banjo in the front porch? We will see how that goes! | Tal vez en un par de anos (estoy siendo realista) Leslie y yo estaremos tocando musica en el porch del frente de la casa con los perros hechados al lado nuestro.
