| This weekend was another crazy weekend – and I haven’t even finished posting about LAST weekend (I still have photos to share from our “welcome home Jason / Brasil carnaval” party)! I am entering midterms week – which is the no. 1 reason our posts have been few and far between and the reason we’re chronologically out of whack. Thank GOODNESS I don’t have any midterm exams this year – but I do have a couple of papers due this week so things are a little hectic! | Este fin de semana fue otro fin de semana loco – y todavia no he podido terminar de postear sobre el fi nde semana pasado (todavia tengo fotos para compartir de la fiesta de bienvenida de Jason / carnaval) Estoy empezando la semana de examenes de medio semestre – lo que es la razon numero 1 porque nuestros post han sido menos y mas separados y cronologicamente estamos un poco mezclados. Gracias a dios no tengo examenes este ano sino que tengo ensayos que escribir asi que andamos muy ocupados! |

| So to kick off this weekend, my aunt Melissa came in town with Andre and we spent the evening with them at the Bellevue Pub watching my dad’s band the West End Rhythm Kings rock out. I got up and sang a few with them and we had a great evening relaxing after a long, LONG day (complete with an hour of our favorite: plyometrics!!). | Asi que para empezar el fin de semana, mi tia Melissa nos vino a visitar junto con andre y pasamos la noche compartiendo con ellos en el Bellevue Pub escuchando a la banda de mi papa los West End Rhythm Kings. Pude cantar un par de canciones con ellos y aprovecharmos de relajarnos despues de un dia largo, largo (incluyendo una hora de nuestro entrenamiento favorito: pliometricos!) |
| Melissa and Andre live in Soddy Daisy, TN – actually they live at the Sale Creek Marina in Soddy Daisy which sounds AMAZING…Javi and I really really need to go visit them there. Anyway, they drove in town to deliver our wedding gift – a beautiful antique fold down desk from my great-grandparents’ farm in Ohio. Melissa described to me exactly where the desk used to sit at the Ohio farm and she and my dad laughed about how they used to see their grandfather (my great grandfather) pay his bills at the desk. | Melissa y Andre viven en Soddy Daisy, TN – la verdad es que viven en la Marina Sale Creek en Soddy Daisy, lo que suena INCREIBLE…Javi y yo en verdad verdad verdad tenemos que irlos a visitar. Pero bueno, ellos manejaron a Nashville para entregarnos nuestro regalo de matrimonio – un hermoso escritorio antiguo de la granja de mis bisabuelos en Ohio. Melissa me describio exactamente donde el escritorio solia estar en la granja de Ohio y ella y mi papa se reian con la imagen de su abuelo (mi bisabuelo) sentado en el escritorio pagando las cuentas. |
| The desk is one of those straight-outta-my-dreams pieces of furniture that I ogle in antique shops but can’t ever afford to bring home. It’s perfect in every way – the family history, the wood, the color, the leather top, the cubbies. I’m still scheming about how I’m going to organize those cubbies. Javi and I put it up against our only free wall in the office and now our office is officially complete! We’ve got 3 desks in 1 office – it’s turning into a regular group study room. My plan is to write all of my school papers at that desk and I’ll keep my other desk for editing photos and reading. I loved our office before but now it’s officially the best room in the house! | El escritorio es uno de esos muebles salido de mis suenos que siempre veo en casa de antiguedades pero es muy caro como para poder comprar y traer a casa. Es perfecto en todo sentido – la historia familiar, la madera, el color, la cubierta de cuero, los cubiculos. Todavia estoy pensando como voy a usar cada espacio en el mueble. Javi y yo lo pusimos en la unica muralla libre en la oficina que ahora esta oficialmente completa! Tenemos 3 escritorios en 1 oficina – se esta convirtiendo en una sala de estudio grupal. Mi plan es escribir todos mis papeles para la universidad en ese escritorio y mantendre el otro escritorio para editar fotos y leer. Me encantaba la oficina antes pero ahora es aun mejor, la mejor pieza de nuestra casa! |
