This year was our first Halloween in our house and also the first Halloween getting trick or treaters! We were really excited to see some costumes and hear a few excited “Trick or Treats!!!” (which, by the way, they never ACTUALLY said…but we gave them candy anyway).

Este ano fue nuestro primer Halloween en nuestra casa y tambien el primer Halloween con ninos viniendo a pedir dulces! Estabamos muy felices de poder ver disfrazes y escuchar unos cuantos gritos “dulce o travesura!” (lo cual, a todo esto, nunca dicen…pero les dimos dulce igual)

We didn’t have the time or energy to come up with fun costumes (work and homework has kept us busy) but Chupete and Choripan were so excited with Halloween that they begged us to get them some cool costumes so they could get treats! (seriously though, have you ever seen Chupete look so thrilled?!?)

Nosotros no tuvimos tiempo o energia para preparar buenos disfrazes (trabajo y estudio nos han mantenido ocupados) pero Chupete y Choripan estaban muy emocionados con Halloween y nos rogaron para que les encontraramos buenos disfrazes y asi pudieran recibir dulces! (en serio, han visto a Chupete con una cara mas feliz??)

We carved our pumpkins and lit up the jack-o-lanterns on top of our fake graves to let kids know that we meant business. John, Joan, and Annie came by (they really wanted to see the kids dressed up) and we hung out on the front porch until the kids started to show up. Our house was the only inviting house in the entire street. Everyone else had lights off and no candy which was kind of a drag, but we understand if people dont want to have to deal with kids knocking on their doors (I guess…). We still got some cool characters that showed up asking for candy, so overall we had a good time hanging out and handing out candy. How was your halloween??

Hicimos nuestras calabazas y prendimos velas adentro de ellas para hacerlas linternas y las pusimos sobre nuestras tumbas asi los ninos podian ver que en nuestra casa eran bienvenidos. John, Joan, y Annie vinieron (tenian ganas de ver a los ninitos disfrazados) y pasamos un buen rato en el porch de la casa hasta que los ninos empezaron a aparecer. Nuestra casa era la unica en nuestra calle que invitaba a los ninos a pedir dulces. Todas las demas casas tenian sus luces apagadas o no tenian dulces asi que era medio fome. pero entendemos si alguien no quiere tener que levantarse a abrir la puerta a cada rato (supongo…). Nosotros igual recibimos algunos personajes interesante que nos vinieron a pedir dulces, asi que en general lo pasamos muy bien repartiendo dulces. Como fue tu Halloween?
