Leslie is from Louisville, KY and Javier is from Punta Arenas, Chile. We met at Belmont University in Nashville, TN in 2008 and married in December 2009. Throughout the existence of our little blog, we have shared bringing our first two dogs home in 2010 and 2011, buying and renovating our Nashville house in 2011, finishing four masters degrees between the two of us, changing and restarting two careers in 2013, bringing home a third dog in 2015 and moving to Louisville KY in 2016.  We hope you enjoy the ride – thanks for taking a look into the Los Rodríguez Life!

  1. ¡Qué alegría para leer el blog bilingüe! ¡Felicitaciones! Usted tiene maravillosas fotos y textos encantadoras añadido a ellos. Eso es lo que me gusta mucho.

  2. I am honoured to nominate you for the One Lovely Blog Award! Please pick up your award at http://travelswithtoby.wordpress.com/. Copy and Paste the Award to your blog and follow the rules of acceptance. I am very aware that some people do not wish to participate in Awards, and I completely respect that… no strings! But in any case, Congratulations, you have a Lovely Blog!

  3. Lesley: I love your photography! And although I don’t know you personally, I had your dad as a professor, and I’ve been cheering for your happiness for a long time. So glad to see your life is so full of love. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Hello Leslie & Javier! Thanks for visiting my blog today at Christian’s Critters. What a wonderful blog you have here! I enjoyed reading through your posts, and I think it’s a great idea you have to share your moments. Very uplifting. I especially liked the posts about the letters from your grandparents.

I’d like to include your blog in my #TBSU (The Blog Scratchers Union) list tomorrow on my personal blog at http://amberleaofalaska.wordpress.com/ It was an idea from a friend of mine, to help spread the word about blogs we like. It’s a great way to meet new and interesting people, find lots of common interests and information, and to promote publicity for each other. Kind of a “you scratch my blog, I’ll scratch your blog” thing, as my friend Seumas puts it. (And it’s free, no strings attached, so that’s a plus too.)

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you and to say that you have a gift in your writing style. Have you considered doing any work as a writer? I think you would do well, and being able to put into 2 languages simultaneously would be a great bonus.

Take care for now, and I look forward to reading more of your posts. Have a great & blessed day! – Amber

  5. Hi! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and for the “like” on my recent post. I’m happy to have found your blog, and am looking forward to getting to explore it more. I already love your pictures and blog design. Wonderful!

  6. Thanks for liking my recent “Weekend Review” post. I’ve just hit the “follow” button after reviewing your blog a bit. Can’t wait to keep up with your adventures. The photos are beautiful.

  7. What a fun fun blog! Love that you’re from Kentucky–I traveled there a year ago for a family wedding and fell in love with your state. Turned me into a bourbon fan for sure. Appreciate you stopping by foodforfun for its spice forecast. If you dig back in older posts, you’ll see a few devoted to bourbon:-)

  8. I studied abroad and worked in Chile over the past couple of years, and I’m trying to keep up my Spanish skills. Excited to read your stories, especially en castellano! Saludos!
