| We are currently in the middle of our vacation week and Penny has gone through a number of firsts over the past few days! She saw the ocean for the first time: | Estamos en la mitad de nuestra semana de vacaciones y Penny ha completado varias “primera vez” durante estos dias! Vio el oceano por pimera vez |
| played in the sand and dipped her feet in the salt water for the first time: | Jugo con arena de playa y puso sus pies en agua salada por primera vez |
| met almost all of her Inman-Kane family for the first time: | Conocio a casi toda la familia Inman-Kane por pirmera vez |
| and TOOK HER FIRST STEP! She’s been standing on her own for a month now and walks along furniture all day long, but she hasn’t mastered the balance required to lift her feet up on her own. This morning Gia, Javi and I were all in the living room of our rental watching her stand and cheering her on as we’ve been doing for several days now trying to coax a step, and she finally lifted her left foot up and moved it forward! She’s not walking yet; as soon as she took the step she surprised herself and sat right back down. But she did it one more time before her nap, so maybe she’ll wake up and put two steps together. That’s my girl! | DIO SU PRIMER PASO! Se ha estado parando por si sola por mas o menos un mes y camina usando los muebles como apoyo todo el dia, pero aun no lograba mantener el equilibrio necesario para levantar un pie. Esta manana Gia, Javi y yo estabamos en el living the nuestro departamento en la playa mirandola parase y tratando que diera un paso (hemos hecho esto durante dias) hasta que por fin levanto su pie izquierdo y lo movio hacia adelante! Todavia no camina, apenas dio su paso, se sorprendio y se sento en suelo. Pero lo hizo de nuevo justo antes de ir a dormir siesta, asi que tal vez cuando despierte dara 2 pasos seguidos. Esa es mi hija! |
| We had a wonderful time on Saturday night at our family reunion / garage jam party – it is good for my soul to get together with our incredible extended family and catch up on everyone’s lives. I wish I could spend a week with all of these people in one place so I could have a good long conversation with each of them, but I’ll take what I can get! It’s no easy task gathering our whole family together, so photos like these are treasures. Look at the second generation!! I can’t imagine what the photos will look like in 20 years when Penny’s generation is flourishing! | Lo pasamos muy bien el Sabado en la noche en la reunion familiar / fiesta de banda de garage – es bueno para mi alma juntarme con mi increible familia y ponerme al dia en sus vidas. Me gustaria poder pasar una semana entera con esta gente en un solo lugar y poder conversar por harto tiempo con cada uno de ellos, pero me alegra mucho pasar con ellos cualquier cantidad de tiempo! No es facil juntar a la familia entera, asi que fotos de estos momentos son tesoros. Mira a la segunda generacion!! No puedo imaginar como se veran las juntas y las fotos en 20 anos cuando la generacion de Penny florezca! |
| Yesterday morning I did a beach family photo session with the McClure family, and today they took off for an adventure at Disneyland. Penny is too young to appreciate a day at Disney so we’re heading to the aquarium today in Long Beach (thank you Sarah for the tickets!!). I’m currently sipping my coffee on a little side patio next to our condo, baby monitor next to my arm in case P wakes up, watching the sun burn off the morning haze and bring the ocean from a slate gray to a deep blue. Cheers to vacation! | Ayer en la manana hize una sesion de fotos en la playa con la familia McClure, y hoy ellos salieron rumbo a Disneyland. Penny es muy chica para disfrutar el dia en Disney asi que mejor iremos al aquario de Long Beach (gracias Sarah por las entradas!!). Estoy sentada, tomando mi cafe en el patio de nuestro departamento, en monitor de Penny al lado mio por si despierta, viendo como el solo hace que la neblina desaparezca y cambia el color gris del mar a un azul intenso. Salud por las vacaciones! |
