| A couple of weeks ago our neighbor across the street decided to cut down a big tree from the front of her property. Well I think she decided anyway, I didn’t actually talk to her, but I saw a guy with a chainsaw going at it. Once the job was done there was enormous pile of wood left on the curb, ready for the city’s brush removal service. At that point, I started brainstorming the possibilities of how to make that wood useful. There were several BIG logs sitting there and I wanted them…but I wasn’t sure what I would do with them. It took me a couple of days to work it up in me to go across the street to ask if I could have the wood, and over those couple of days I decided what I wanted to do with them. When my neighbor asked what my plan was, I let her in on my idea to make the logs into seats for our fire pit in the backyard. As (my) luck would have it, she suddenly decided she also wanted to use some of her discarded wood for the same purpose. In the end, I had to negotiate with her and I came up with a deal for both of us: I would take a couple of choice logs to her backyard if she let me keep 5 of them and some of the scrap firewood. DEAL! |
Un par de semanas atras, nuestro vecino del frente decidió cortar un árbol que tenia en el frente de su propiedad. Bueno, pienso que decidió hacerlo, porque no converse con ella antes del hecho sino que vi a un tipo con una motosierra cortando como loco. Una vez que el trabajo estaba hacho, había una tremenda pila de madera al costado de la calle esperando que la el camion de escombros de la ciudad pasara. En ese momento comenze a imaginar las diferentes posibilidades para usar esa madera. Habian varios troncos grandes y yo los quería…no sabia que iba a hacer con ellos eso si. Me tomo un par de días ir al frente y preguntarle a la vecina si podia llevarme algunos pedazos de madera, y en esos días que me demore en preguntar había encontrado una idea para los troncos. Cuando la vecina me pregunto que iba a hacer con ellos, le conte que la idea era usar los trozos como asientos al rededor del sitio para la fogata que tenemos en el patio. Con tanta suerte que cuando le conte mi idea, ella decidió que también quería usar algunos trozos de madera para lo mismo. Al final tuve que negociar con ella y llegamos a un acuerdo bueno para ambos: ella elegiría un par de troncos y yo los movería a su patio si me dejaba quedarme con los 5 pedazos mas grandes y un poco de madera extra para la fogata. TRATO HECHO! |
