Music video roundup

We’ve never posted a roundup like this before, but I noticed a couple of weeks ago that several of my musical friends released new videos and they’re all worth watching. Check them out, share and enjoy! Revisenlos, compartan, y disfruten!

MOON TAXI – MOROCCO

I went to college at Belmont University with these fellas – and I actually sang on their first album “Melodica.” This is an all-around entertaining video and catchy song – I’ve seen the photos from the video shoot floating around instagram and Facebook so I’ve been looking forward to this video. It was worth the wait!

PHOX – SLOW MOTION

Last summer I participated in a songwriting workshop with a few of these musicians and subsequently saw their performance at 12th and Porter at the All About Music Conference. I absolutely love Monica’a beautiful voice, and the band’s quirky antics, style and demeanor are charming. It’s impossible not to smile watching this video, and swoon when you hear Monica sing. I was entranced by the video itself, too – the color palette is beautiful. Enjoy! Disfruten!

BLACK PRAIRIE – LET IT OUT

I don’t personally know this band, but the Bluegrass Situation posted this most-excellent video on Facebook and I had to check it out. The Sitch mentioned something about dark humor, and since it’s hard to come up with something new in a music video I thought it’d be interesting to see how dark humor comes out for a bluegrass band. Anyway, the video entertaining, and yes, dark and funny. It’s also a great song – so check it out!

ST. PAUL AND THE BROKEN BONES – CALL ME

I just love these guys. We met last summer at the same All About Music conference where I met Phox, and we’ve kept in touch, especially after playing on Cayamo together this past February. We recently opened for them in Houston and they’ve been blowing up all over the country. Their new album “Half the City” released shortly after Cayamo and their brand new video for their single “Call Me” just came out. It’s gold – it features St. Paul’s epic dance moves, and while we’re on the subject of dance moves, the lady in red dances exactly how I wish I could dance every time I see these fellas live. She’s amazing!
