| Well, Hickory Slims has officially lost its second first show virginity! This was our first show as Hickory Slims but, as I’ve said previously about this group, we used to play together under the name Angus Whyte and the Irish Rednecks. We actually played at the Family Wash a couple times as AW&IR – below are a few photos and a couple videos of our last show at the Family Wash back in 2007. | Bueno, Hickory Slims ha perdido oficialmente su virginidad del Segundo primer show! Este fue el primer show como Hickory Slims, pero como hemos dicho antes sobre este grupo, solíamos tocar juntos bajo el nombre Angus Whyte and the Irish Rednecks. La verdad es que hemos tocado en Family Wash un par de veces como AW&IR – abajo van algunas fotos y un par de videos de nuestro último show en Family Wash en 2007. |
| This time we played the Tuesday night Short Sets with Cole Slivka, which is basically a night to feature a few bands who get to play 5 songs a piece. It wasn’t a long set – only about 15-20 minutes – but it was a laid back first show to get back into playing live gigs again. All of the songs we played were Hickory Slims originals. | Esta vez tocamos un martes en la noche durante los Sets Cortos con Cole Slivka, que es básicamente una noche donde varias bandas tocan 5 canciones cada una. No fue largo – solo 15 a 20 munits – pero fue entretenido y un show perfecto para volver a tocar en vivo. Todas las canciones que tocamos fueron originales de Hickory Slims. |
| It was a fun night – Tuesday nights are pie & pint night at the FW ($10 for the pair) and we had a bunch of good friends come out to support so between the music, food, beer and company we had a really great time. Thanks again to everyone who came – and thanks to Javi and my dad for getting photos and video of the mini show. | Fue una noche entretenida – los martes son Pie y Pint en Family Wash ($10 por el par) y muchos amigos vinieron a apoyarnos, así que entre la música, la comida, la cerveza y la compañía lo pasamos genial. | BY THE WAY. Hickory Slims is playing again at Puckett’s in Leiper’s Fork on March 2 from 8-10 (a nice long set!) and then at the Village Pub on March 31. We are hoping to get a few shows in between, but for now mark your calendars for those dates if you are in Nashville and think you’d like to come out and hear us live! | A PROPOSITO, Hickory Slims va a tocar de nuevo en Puckett’s en Leiper’s Fork el 2 de Marzo desde las 8 a las 10 (un set largo!) y en el Village Pub el 31 de Marzo. I remember the old Angus Whyte music. Nice to hear it again. Love the new songs with Hickory Slims! Really sounds great.
