| Yesterday was Choripan’s birthday! It was also national puppy day which is perfect because he was one of the two cutest puppies ever (the other being Chupete, obviously). Choripan was an unplanned puppy – his adoption story is a pretty good one. Last May, Chupete lost his tags while going crazy playing with some other friends’ doggos. The next week I had to replace Chupete’s rabies tag at the vet and while I waited I went across the street to the adoption center Love at First Sight (where we got Chupi) to see their new puppies and kittens. Javi and I knew we wanted another dog but we wanted an older, calmer doggo to hang out with Chupi, so I wasn’t looking to adopt a puppy. You guys…it’s not called “Love at First Sight” for nothing. I saw Choripan and held him for two seconds and it was as if he knew what kind of dog we were looking for – he was totally calm, fell asleep on my shoulder and seemed like an angel. I took a few pictures of him while I was holding him and sent them to Javi and Choripan turned on the charm for those pics because I was actually able to convince Javi via text message to say yes to the pup. When I took him across the street to the vet to get checked out after I filled out the adoption paperwork he went crazy in the vet’s room – I mean he was running around like a maniac (video below). I remember thinking that Javier was going to go nuts with such a lunatic doggo – but when I took him to Javier’s office on the way home Chori turned on that Chori charm again and Javi was hooked. Choripan was tiny – only 8 lbs – when we brought him home. It took about a week or so for Chupi to get used to him, but now they are two peas in a pod. By the second week they were snuggling with each other and play fighting (instead of real fighting) and all was well. He definitely completes the Los Rodriguez household! Ayer fue el cumpleanos de Choripan! Tambien fue el dia nacional de los cachorros, lo que es perfecto porque el era el cachorro mas tierno que existe (el otro era Chupete, obviamente) Choripan fue un cachorro no planeado – la historia de su adopcion es entretenida. En Mayo del ano pasado, Chupete perdio su collar y sus chapas jugando con algunos amigos. A la semana siguiente tuve que ir al veterinario para reemplazar la chapa que prueba su vacuna contra la rabia y mientras esperaba al veterinario cruce la calle para visitar el centro de adopcion Amor a Primera Vista (donde adoptamos a Chupete) para ver los cachorros que habian. Javi y yo sabiamos que queriamos otro perro, pero queriamos uno ya adulto, calmado, que jugara con Chupete asi que no estaba buscando un cachorro. Para que sepan…no se llama Amor a Primera Vista por nada. Vi a Choripan y lo tome por algunos segundos y fue como si el supiera que tipo de perro estabamos buscando – era totalmente calmado, se durmio en mi hombro y parecia un angelito. Le saque un par de fotos mientras lo tenia y se las envie a Javi y Choripan trabajo la camara para convencer a Javi a decir que si al cachorro via mensaje de texto. Cuando lo lleve al veterinario en el edificio cruzando la calle para revisarlo luego de llenar los papeles de adopcion, se volvio loco en la sala de examinacion – osea, se puso a correr como maniaco (ver video). Me acuerdo pensando que Javier se iba a poner loco con est perro lunatico – pro cuando lo lleve a la oficina de Javi para que lo conociera, Choripan uso su ternura y Javier tambien se enamoro. Chori era muy chiquito, solo 8 libras, cuando lo trajimos a casa. Demoro como una semana para que Chupete se acostumbrara a el, pero ahora son como una y mugre. Ya la segunda semana dormian juntos en cucharita y luchaban en juego (no de verdad) sin problemas. El definitivamente completa el hogar de Los Rodriguez! Feliz cumpleaños Choripan!! Te extrañamos, al igual que a Chupi chupi y a mi bella cuñada y a mi precioso hermano. Que importante es que se celebre el día del cachorro, ya que en Chile aun no se legisla sobre la tenencia responsable de mascotas. Felicidades por tener a dos cachorros tan bellos, sé que ellos estan felices por el amor dado. Gracias por compartir este día en su blog.
