Visiting Louisville is always a trip back to Leslie’s teenage years and, of course, millions of good, bad, funny, and crazy memories with her family and good friends. It is fun to hear about the things she did in different places, the roads she took, the parties she attended, the shops she visited and the places where she sang.

Visitar Louisville es siempre un viaje de vuelta a los anos de infancia de Leslie y, por supuesto, millones de buenas, malas, divertidas, y locas memorias de sus amigos y familia. Es entretenido escuchar las historias de las cosas que hizo en diferentes lugares, las calles que usaba, las fiestas que fue, las tiendas que visito y los lugares donde canto.

We love getting together with her best friends and, even though sometimes I have no clue what or about whom their talking, it’s great to listen to their stories of middle school and high school years. We wish we could all lived in the same city now, but since that is not a reality (YET!), the holidays usually give us a chance to get together since everyone goes back to Louisville to visit family.

Nos encanta juntarnos con los mejores amigos de Leslie y, a pesar que a veces no tengo idea de lo que estan hablando, es entretenido escuchar sus historias del colegio. Deseariamos que vivieran todos en la misma ciudad que nosotros, pero ya que esa no es la realidad (no todavia!), las fiestas nos dan la oportunidad de nuntarnos ya que la mayoria regresa a Louisville a visitar a sus familias.

Friday night we met with Danielle and Chris at Cumberland Brewery on Bardstown Rd. for dinner and, of course, some brews! We had a great time laughing about …EVERYTHING and planning our lives hoping that at one point we will all move to the same city and hang out more often (maybe we can become a real version of Friends). The place is a small brewery with a great atmosphere and awesome beers in the middle of a neighborhood that resembles our beloved East Nashville. The funky Cumberland Brewery has a special place in Leslie’s heart; she used to play music there with her dad! They’d set their band (John, Leslie and Brad) up in a tiny corner window and play some songs while enjoying the freshly brewed beers (well..John and Brad would…Leslie was still under 21).

El Viernes en la noche nos juntamos con Danielle y Chris en la cervezeria Cumberland en Bardstown Rd. para cenar y, claro, tomarnos unas cervezas! Lo pasamos super bien riendonos de….TODO y planeando nuestras vidas esperando que en algun minuto todos viviremos en la misma ciudad y podamos pasar mas tiempo juntos (tal vez nos podriamos convertir en la version verdadera de Friends). El lugar es una cervezeria pequena con una gran atmosfera y cervezas geniales en la mitad de un barrio que nos recuerda mucho a nuestro querido Nashville del Este. La cervezeria Cumberland tiene un lugar especial en el corazon de Leslie; ella solia cantar alli con su papa! Ellos ponian una banda (John, Leslie y Brad) en una esquinita y tocaban canciones mientras disfrutaban cervezas frescas (bueno…John y Brad…Leslie todavia era muy chica).

I really liked the place – it would definitely fit in well in South Inglewood. We watched the University of Louisville basketball game and cheered with some little kid that was yelling like crazy while sitting on his dad’s shoulders. Any spot with good beers, nice staff, good prices …. and good beers (in case you missed it the first time) is always just right for us. If you have time in Louisville and you are looking for a nice place to hang out…Cumberland Brewery is your place! Me encanto el lugar – encajaria perfecto en South Inglewood. Vimos el juego de basket de la Universidad de Louisville y celebramos con un cabro chico que estaba gritando como loco sentado en los hombros de su papa. Cualquier lugar con buenas cervezas, buena atencion, buenos precios ….y buenas cervezas (en caso que no leyeron bien la primera vez) es siempre un buen lugar para nosotros.
