A Colorado Brunch

The way my cousin tells the story, my grandmother and grandfather were driving through Colorado with their kids (my dad and his 4 siblings) and their car kept breaking down, so while they were on the side of the road fixing the car my uncle Scott had plenty of time to marvel at the mountainous landscapes. He fell in love with Colorado and knew he’d move back there one day – and he’s been living in Colorado pretty much since he left home. Currently he and Ann live in Colorado Springs, with a back deck that affords the most beautiful view of the mountains! Our jaws dropped when we walked into their living room and saw the mountains outside of their floor-to-ceiling windows. Just BREATHTAKING.

MARAVILLOSO!

Scott and Ann hosted a delicious brunch at their house before Heather’s wedding using my grandmother’s china – so nice to see that china after so long! The brunch was excellent and we got to see an amazing slideshow afterwards of Scott and Ann’s most recent trip to Alaska on their Harley Davidson motorcycle and trike. I got a couple of pictures of the bikes but I couldn’t back up from where I was standing so they are a little close up. My uncle has been driving Harleys for as long as I can remember. He and Ann go on long bike trips every year and this year they bought a trike for Ann that is pretty incredible…and incredibly loud! It’s definitely what I would prefer to ride on…I think I’d get too nervous riding a motorcycle but maybe if it had 3 wheels I’d feel better about it.

It was great to see my uncle’s house – I love visiting my family (see a photography post from a visit to my aunt Jane and uncle Bruce’s house here). It was a perfect afternoon trip to kick off the wedding festivities – which we’ll post about tomorrow!

  1. Thanks for taking and posting these pictures, Leslie. And I really appreciate the time you took to post a narrative, as well. We hope that you and Javi and other family members will return to visit when we all have more time to just “hang out”.
