Hot Chicken…an acquired taste

Leslie and I have acquired a taste for different foods that we were not used to eating when we were younger. Sometimes we like to be just like kids that refuse to eat something…but then we try it and LOVE it! So recently we’ve fallen in love with hot chicken. We went from buffalo wings to chicken tenders dipped in buffalo sauce (not so messy) to hot chicken.

Last summer we went to the Hot Chicken Festival in East Nashville and a couple of friends recommended that we try the new guys around…. Pepperfire Spiced Chicken! It took us a while to stop by and give them shot; a little dumb on our part first because they are so close to our house (we pass by it literally EVERYDAY) and second because their chicken is DELICIOUS!! —- As a bonus: The folks at Pepperfire are super nice and want to make sure they hear your feedback about their food so they can improve it even more – something we really appreciate.

Their “hotness” goes from Mild to Medium to Hot to Xtra to XXtra! Leslie tried a Medium Leg Quarter while I went for Hot Chicken Tenders. We were extremely happy with our food, the spice did not take away the flavor of the chicken (but it was still pretty spicy!). The chicken was juicy and warm and I had to have a glass of milk as my safety valve. So awesome! We recommended it to everyone; if you are looking for good hot chicken, Pepperfire is the place to go. You can call ahead with your order or order online on their website (they take about 20 minutes to make your chicken) and take it home or eat it on their covered patio.

We love it, and we would like you to try it so we can love Pepperfire together. I must say, East Nashville continues to surprise us and delight us everyday. We are looking forward to having another Pepperfire experience!
