Maderas Kentucky

Once Javier set up his woodshop and finished his workbench it was really only a matter of time before I coaxed him into setting up a side hustle selling his creations. The pieces he makes are gorgeous and he is so happy working on new items that it just makes sense to create a situation where other people can enjoy beautiful handmade furniture and he can continue creating. So, without further delay, allow me to introduce maderaskentucky.com! He currently has two pieces available – a gorgeous cherry coffee table and a sweet lamp made from an Eagle Rare bourbon bottle. We’ll be adding more to the website as he continues to finish new items. Right now we have two more giant slabs of wood waiting in the workshop – a beautiful hackberry and another large piece of maple.  He can make almost anything you can think of: coffee tables, side tables, conference or dinner tables, shelves, consoles, album racks, etc. He’s taking custom orders and shipping is available.

The cherry coffee table is extra special because he made it entirely with hand tools. The top is so silky smooth it actually took my breath away when I first ran my hand across it. It is finished with several coats of linseed oil and beeswax, which gives it a unique matte look instead of a glossy polyurethane style of finish. It’s a steal at $400…and until someone claims it, it’s sitting pretty in our room where I can admire it every day. Follow him on instagram (@_haviair) for updates on new materials, items, his process, and new finished pieces!
