When Javi and I didn’t have anything planned during our stay in Buena Vista we went hiking on different trails. Our friend Jen recommended Angel Falls and our B&B host Connie told us to check out Cottonwood Pass, so we decided to take them both up on their suggestions. In between horseback riding and the goat farm, we drove up to Cottonwood Pass to check out the view. We parked our car at the bottom of a big hill and climbed up to the very top of the pass – in my cowboy boots no less – and it was just gorgeous. For the first 10 minutes we were up there nobody was up there with us, so we set the timer of our camera to take photos and in my rush to try to join Javi I started falling over backwards, scaring Javi half to death (I was fine! I swear!). We finally met up with a nice couple who seemed camera savvy enough and asked them to take a photo and…well, we finally got one after a few tries! I was smiling so hard – do you think I was happy or what? |

[…] was the highlight of 2012 for me. We fell head over heels for that beautiful state, and especially Buena Vista where we stayed at the Liar’s Lodge. I’m not exaggerating when I say that we mention […]
