About the Blog

Leslie is from Louisville, KY – Javier is from Punta Arenas, Chile. We love the married life and thought that it would be cool to share some of the things we do! Why not?! People share worse things on the internet and we can’t be THAT boring. We originally started this blog so that Javier’s family could keep in touch with our daily lives from a distance – his whole family still lives in Chile and we don’t get a chance to talk to them on the phone as much as we’d like to. As it turned out, it was also a great way for Leslie’s family to keep in touch – even her parents, who live in Nashville. There’s no set theme; we write about everything from our dogs to our home improvements to our favorite local restaurants. The only consistency throughout the blog is that each post is in two languages – English on the left, Spanish on the right. Thanks for taking a look into the Los Rodríguez Life!

Lesley: I love your photography! And although I don’t know you personally, I had your dad as a professor, and I’ve been cheering for your happiness for a long time. So glad to see your life is so full of love. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Leslie & Javier! Thanks for visiting my blog today at Christian’s Critters. What a wonderful blog you have here! I enjoyed reading through your posts, and I think it’s a great idea you have to share your moments. Very uplifting. I especially liked the posts about the letters from your grandparents.

I’d like to include your blog in my #TBSU (The Blog Scratchers Union) list tomorrow on my personal blog at http://amberleaofalaska.wordpress.com/ It was an idea from a friend of mine, to help spread the word about blogs we like. It’s a great way to meet new and interesting people, find lots of common interests and information, and to promote publicity for each other. Kind of a “you scratch my blog, I’ll scratch your blog” thing, as my friend Seumas puts it. (And it’s free, no strings attached, so that’s a plus too.)

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you and to say that you have a gift in your writing style. Have you considered doing any work as a writer? I think you would do well, and being able to put into 2 languages simultaneously would be a great bonus.

Take care for now, and I look forward to reading more of your posts. Have a great & blessed day! – Amber

What a fun fun blog! Love that you’re from Kentucky–I traveled there a year ago for a family wedding and fell in love with your state. Turned me into a bourbon fan for sure. Appreciate you stopping by foodforfun for its spice forecast. If you dig back in older posts, you’ll see a few devoted to bourbon:-)
